The amphibian was stumbled upon by the state Department of the Environment while clearing a trail in Conway National Park.

In Queensland, Australia, a giant cane frog weighing 2.7 kilograms was discovered. It is considered the largest in the world. This was reported by the ABC TV channel.

“There was a snake crawling in front of us on the road, so we pulled over to let it pass and got out of the car, and next to us was this big cane toad,” said park ranger Kylie Gray.

According to him, the animal looked like “a soccer ball with legs.” The length of the frog is about 30 cm. It is nicknamed Toadzilla – Zhabzilla.

“A cane frog this size will eat anything it can fit in its mouth, including insects, reptiles and small mammals,” Gray said.

It can be recalled that early experts from the US and UK discovered that the extinct giant frog Beelzebufo ampinga could hunt small dinosaurs. They made such conclusions by analyzing the bite force of an amphibian
