Due to cyber attacks, Russian citizens cannot use online banking, pay utility bills, contact technical support, etc.
The Odessa group of Technicians created an application for smartphones called Digital Bavovna. It is designed for automated DDoS attacks on Russian websites. Details are provided by the DOU publication.
According to Andrey Krivosheev, one of the developers and co-founder of the IT WAR UA resource, the application was created for Android. This forces the smartphone to send requests to Russian sites for a long time to overload them and disable them.
“The more devices that use the program at the same time, the more noticeable the effect. The application automatically generates a package of targets, after which it directs attacks from 2, 5, 10 or 50 thousand phones. If the site is restored, the system pauses, the attack lists are reset and the cyber strikes resume,” he said.
The main targets were the banking and financial infrastructure, as well as government agencies of the Russian Federation.
It was noted that Russians use these resources every day, so failures cause them a lot of inconvenience. In particular, due to cyber attacks, Russian citizens cannot use online banking, pay utility bills, contact technical support, etc.
It is known that so far several thousand people are using Digital Bavovna.
The application automatically reminds you every day that it should be launched – nothing else is required from users.
“The attacks are carried out through 100,000 proxies designed for 500,000 people, so the Russians will not know the IP addresses of Ukrainians using the application. Fake addresses are constantly changing, which further complicates the task. We do not pull traffic from the user all the time, but only take it during the moments of the attack, after which we will create conditional DDoS pulsations against the enemy. The application will not collect or require any personal data from you. All you need is permission for the application to work in the background and agree to show push notifications,” said Krivosheev. .
Recall that earlier, Ukrainian developers, against the backdrop of power outages due to Russian attacks, created the Svіtlo application with blackout monitoring. The development belongs to Ivan Denisov and Andrey Zakhlyupan.
