A space object called YG5 does not meet the criteria for a potentially hazardous asteroid.
On Friday, December 30, the last asteroid of the year, the size of a private house, will fly by Earth. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) reports.
It was noted that the YG5 space rock, whose diameter is about 16 meters, will approach our planet at a distance of 3,120,000 kilometers and fly at a speed of 51,286 km / h.
Scientists do not classify this asteroid as potentially dangerous, because it does not exceed 150 meters, although its maximum distance from Earth is less than 7.5 million kilometers.
It was previously reported that about 30 thousand potentially dangerous asteroids are approaching the Earth. They are located 45 million km from the orbital path of the planet.
