England captain Owen Farrell says Eddie Jones’ sacking is ‘incredibly disappointing’

Jones was suspended by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) last week after England’s November Tests and the team have won just five of their 12 matches under his charge this year. “It’s incredibly frustratingFarrell told the BBC on Sunday after his Premiership side Saracens beat Edinburgh in the Champions Cup.

Eddie was a big part of English rugby for a long time and he was one of the best coaches I’ve had, so I’m very grateful to him. We are disappointed that he stopped early and we owe him a lot. I’ve been here for a while now and haven’t seen much change at club or international level. It is not pleasant to live.»

Farrell assured that the XV de la Rose players did not instigate the departure of Eddie Jones. “I don’t think it comes from the players. Obviously there are things we all want to improve based on results, but as players you look at yourself and see what you can do.“, he added.
