Chief of the Lima Police Station, Manuel Losadapointed out that no amenities were provided to the demonstrators who arrived before the Congress to support the government of President Pedro Castillo. However, he explained that the procession was scheduled for 15:00, so there were only about ten police officers there in the early morning.
“There was no way (for them to get through before Congress). Here the police do not give anyone any opportunities. His march was scheduled for 15:00. yet they shifted their point of concentration and remained here. That’s why we’re going to withdraw it,” General Losada said.
Subsequently, a strong police force reached Abankay Avenue to prevent the protesters from taking the other road. Likewise, the Peruvian National Police reinforced the bars to prevent access to Junin and Ancash shreds and thus prevent access to the Government Palace.
The plenary session was suspended due to protests
Due to a police report indicating that protests against public and private property will be held during the demonstration, the Congressional Board of Directors chaired by Joseph Williamsdecided to adjourn the plenary meeting scheduled for this Thursday, 10 November.
“We were informed that during the mobilization scheduled for Thursday, the 10th protests will be held with acts of violence against public and private propertyin connection with the possible penetration of radical and extremist groups into the demonstrators, which can cause social overflow and disruption of public order,” the mayor’s office said in a statement.
