President of the RepublicPedro Castillo, went this afternoon to public ministry headquarters to provide his statements as part of the investigation that follows him over the alleged plagiarism of his master’s thesis. The president was scheduled for 2:00 pm, but he arrived twenty minutes early to present his defense case to the provincial prosecutor of Cajamarca. Nuri Marine Reyes.
BUT Castillo charged with alleged crime of lying and improper collection to the detriment of the state and the National Supervision of Higher University Education (Sunedu). Recall that the University of Cesar Vallejo reported on the similarity of the thesis of the president with other previously published texts.
Before arriving at the prosecutor’s office, Benji Espinoza, the lawyer of Castillo Terrones, explained to the press the status of the investigation against the head of state.
“Plagiarism and general lies have been shelved. In the first case, we managed to get it in the archive. The Prosecutor General’s Office filed an appeal and in the second instance confirmed the case of generic forgery, which means that the charge of generic forgery no longer exists, but there remains plagiarism, which returned to the prosecutor’s office, and the charge of illegal collection.
President Castillo left the prosecutor’s office in a company car around 2:20 pm. without giving statements to the press.
