Podemos bench representative, Jose Luna Galvezrequested the President of the Congress, Lady Camones, in a formal letter, to include a bill to advance the presidential and congressional elections, formulated by the second vice-president of parliament, decent street, on the legislative agenda.
The request includes 5 other bills that say the parliamentary group “deems it a priority” to discuss in the next sessions of Congress.
Lack of support
The day before, Congressman Kalle, also a member of the faction Canpointed out that his legislative draft on early elections did not receive the support of parliamentarians.
“I don’t have their support, I don’t have their support. This is despite what some have previously said that if the best course of action is to leave, then we will leave. However, when I spoke, they did not like my any initiative. I am going alone with my project,” the parliamentarian said yesterday in an interview with the newspaper Control.
“Perhaps some colleagues prioritize their personal projects because they see their economic improvement. I don’t want to think that’s why they cling to the position,” he said. The outside try to explain the reason for the lack of support.
Similarly, the second vice-speaker of parliament said that her colleagues even asked her to leave the initiative, which involves the renewal of both the executive and legislative branches.
“Several congressmen told me: “colleague, withdraw your project,” but I’m not really giving it up, because someone doesn’t think so. The priority should be in the country,” he said.
Expect support from the Constitutional Commission
The Podemos legislator recalled the response of the President of the Constitutional Commission, Hernando Guerra Garcia, who was against early election. However, he mentioned the latest statements by Fuerza Popular leader Keiko Fujimori to prioritize this initiative in the aforementioned parliamentary working group.
“I heard that the project was not included in the agenda that Hernando Guerra Garcia mentioned, so I sent an email to prioritize its discussion. However, we also have statements from its leader, Keiko Fujimori, which are supportive and I understand that since the Fujimorists are so united, they will have to pay attention to him,” he elaborated.
