Congressman Carlos Anderson said today that if President Pedro Castillo completes his mission to remove PNP Colonel Harvey Colchado, coordinator of the police team that is cooperating with the prosecutors’ special corruption investigation team, Parliament will have “another reason” to release the head of state.
During a presentation by Interior Minister Willy Huerta on the three changes made to the PPP high command, the legislator considered that if the departure stuffingthe President will suffer the crime of obstruction of justice.
” Colonel Harvey Colchado he is not alone in his fight against corruption, we Peruvians support his work against corruption. If President Castillo manages to remove Colonel Colchado from his post, he will give us another reason for the vacancy, as this would constitute an obstruction of justice, ”Anderson said in his speech at the meeting of the Defense Commission.
Mentioning another argument in favor of the presidential vacancy, Congressman Charles Anderson (former Podemos Peru) asked the head of the ministry whether the removal of PPP General Commander Luis Vera was his initiative or that of Presidential Castle.
In this regard, Huerta replied that he appreciated the work of Vera Llerena, who was in power for only three months, and recommended that President Pedro Castillo order his resignation and resign for failing to fulfill the tasks of ensuring the safety of citizens.
“My service, reflecting and seeing the existing unfavorable facts, appreciated the constancy of the commanding general. I make my assessment, and the decisions in this regard are made by the president, it is the president who makes the decision within the framework of the relevant shortlist,” said the Minister of Internal Affairs.
In this sense, Huerta indicated that if he sees any interference from the executive branch in the work of the police, the prosecutor’s office or the judiciary, he will automatically resign from office.
Vacancy traffic on the way
Congressman from Country Success, Diego Bazan, confirmed the next submission of a new petition for a vacancy against the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo. The parliamentarian said that deputies from the ruling blocs also joined this initiative.
“To get the votes you need, you also need to talk to a few pro-government congressmen. In this scenario, I have spoken to several who are frustrated with the work done by the President of the Republic, which has not been effective. and, conversely, are closely linked to issues related to corruption,” he said in News extension from RPP.
“I think there are congressmen in the ruling bloc who are now convinced in favor of the vacancy,” he added.
As such, Bazan announced that the vacancy proposal, developed with congressman Edward Malaga outside the group, was now ready for submission.
In addition, he commented that this new initiative collects the investigations that the head of state has faced and which compromises not only himself, but also those close to him.
Finally, he explicitly mentioned that those who did not support his initiative would become collaborators of the president and his alleged outlaw connections.
