Former Minister Ruben Vargas rejects possible sanctions against Harvey Colchado: “We are faced with a flagrant act of abuse of power.”

We are faced with a flagrant act of abuse of power, and this is sanctioned, ”said Ruben Vargas.

The former minister pointed out that the president and his advisers are involved in new crimes, demanding sanctions against Colchado. He also believes there is a demolition campaign against DIVIAC.

“The destruction strategy has been launched against DIVIAC, against the colonels who are part of a special police team that investigates this criminal group. They are going to question Colchado’s professional career and will try to destroy the image of the four colonels who are part of the team,” he said.

Ruben Vargas reiterated that Harvey Colchado and his team have always worked based on prosecution for searching for Yenifer Paredes at the Government Palace, which the former minister said the president did not like.

Sanctions process against Harvey Colchado

President Pedro Castillo, through his lawyer Eduardo Pachas, submitted a formal letter to the Inspector General of Police asking for a sanctions process that would result in the removal of Colonel Harvey Colchado, head of the task force, for search warrants at the Government Palace, August 9.

Castillo’s defense is demanding that a disciplinary process be initiated and an investigation launched against PNP Colonel Harvey Colchado, and upon completion “impose a very serious sanction and therefore immediately dismiss him” in accordance with the law governing the police disciplinary regime.
