national prosecutor, Patricia Benavidezasked Prime Minister Anibal Torres and Economy and Finance Minister Curt Burneo on Monday, August 22, that the government allocate a larger budget to the State Ministry (MP).
During the second ordinary session of the National Council for the Security of Citizens (CONASEC), which is taking place in Trujillo (La Libertad), the head of parliament said that her institution feels completely “limited” due to the lack of sufficient budget to conduct tax investigations. or work related to National Police or Power of attorney.
“The government ministry that I represent feels budget-constrained, and being here in Trujillo, criminal detention units have been set up with judges, prosecutors and police, but without a single budget. Not a single sun is given to the Public Service and, despite this, making every effort, We agreed that the three prosecutors will consider the issue of detention at the scene of the crime,” he said.
“Our fundamental support for the work being done by the State Department is forensic science. We have mobility issues, no medical examiner and experts, How can we move forward with tax investigations?” he asked himself.
In this sense, Benavidez confirmed that the lack of a budget has prevented them from working fully towards reducing the number of murders and violence against women at the national level, which are the goals set in National Citizen Security Plan.
“We have a law and an annual plan of goals to achieve, and according to the report on the five goals, which is to reduce murders at the national level, violence against women, we are against the numbers,” he said.
“Mr. President, I ask that we reach some agreements today that define how to achieve these five goals, which are already included in the national plan, which expires in 2023. If we do not achieve these goals, where will we come to?
