Judge Johnny Gomez Balboa, the Third National Preparatory Court of Inquiry, announced this Sunday that the hearing on the request for pre-trial detention for Yenifer Paredes, sister-in-law of President Pedro Castillo, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 23. In the case of José Medina, the mayor of Anguia, the request will only be considered on Wednesday the 24th.
Both Paredes and Angia district mayor José Medina have been detained since August 10 last year for a preliminary period of 10 days on charges of integrating an alleged network of corruption and money laundering that will be run by the president, according to the prosecution’s thesis.

Was Yennefer Paredes at the government palace?
Prosecutor Hans Aguirre attached to the hearing a report from the Anti-Corruption Task Force (SCCC), which indicated that Yenifer Paredes was at the Government Palace on August 9 when the procedure for her capture was carried out.
