President of the Judiciary, Elvia Barrios, denied that his establishment was part of any conspiracy or political persecution. In statements to the press, he guaranteed the independence of judges in resolving requests submitted by the prosecutor’s office.
“These days we realized that there is a serious conflict between executive branch and the legislature, as the judiciary, we are not going to enter this conflict stage. What we are trying to give is the solution to all problems through our judicial decisions,” he said.
“In the judiciary, we do not carry out political persecution. We only administer justice and apply the law,” he added.
