Climaco CardenasPresident of Conveagro, in dialogue with RPP Newsnoted that the announced decision Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) deliveries of the first batch of fertilizers, which will arrive in September next year, only 48,000 agricultural producers, shows that the Executive has no information relative to the number of agricultural producers in the country.
“There is a certain parameterization of actions Agro-rural (…) there is almost no information that they did not find us. And this is a big problem: they don’t find us on the national map. They say that the register of manufacturers will reach half a million registered, but our reality tells us that we are more than 2 million 200 thousand manufacturers on the coast, in the mountains and in the jungle”, he claimed.
In this sense, Cardenas said he did not understand “stubbornnessMidagri is that he does not use the norms established by the irrigation commissions, “located in more than 60% of the agricultural area Peru”, and the register of agricultural producers.
“They say that we must find (…) manufacturers, but is it right that we have all the producers in one or two years, when now emergency? And we are talking about a product that will probably arrive in mid-September when we placed this order directly on November last yearhe pointed out.
The President of Conveagro emphasized that 8 months have passed, “Two corn campaigns covered” and so far the Government has not solved the problem of fertilizers, which has significantly harmed the producers.
“Instead of objecting and making new demands each time, which corresponds to (…), since we want to buy fertilizer, that the product comes through our organizations so that it does not succumb to political manipulations, proselytism,” he explained.
Delay will increase the cost of products
Cardenas claimed that the delay in the delivery of fertilizers caused all “losses”should proceed from the fact that agricultural producers who had to deal with the high cost of products such as carbamide.
“Urea averages S/180 per 50kg bag to S/320 at its peak. Who paid these prices? Not in the quantity that was required, but they bought mainly urea and other products. That’s why, the one who keeps on losing is the producer, while (…) incapacity reigns in the state, because the purchase of fertilizers is not an art or a taboo, it is a matter of business,” he said.
Conveagro’s president said that the acquisition of fertilizer “should not take more than three months” and that delaying it would result in a “reduction” in crops.
“We estimated the reduction in crops by 14%. They have already begun to appear, which is alarming, in less planting potatoes, cornand it already has a clear affectation that cannot be corrected,” he said.
This smaller amount of food, he explained, will cause “increase in price due to higher cost of production.” For this reason, he considered it essential that the government purchase products without further delay, or that it “fall back”.
“It is required that they no longer think about this fertilizer, and if it is not delivered now when it was offered, finally step aside and let people in the know solve the problem, which can even be bought online.” I don’t understand so much inefficiency and uselessness”, he remarked.
