Power of attorney will consider this Friday, August 5, a prosecutor’s request to ban Congressman Freddie Diaz from leaving the country for 9 months after an employee of his office accused him of alleged rape.

chief judge Juan Carlos Chekli will analyze the request of the Supreme Prosecutor, Zoraida Avalosso that the congressman cannot leave the country for nine months to ensure his permanent presence on national territory while the planned procedures are being carried out to determine his legal status.

The judge also gave the floor to the parliamentarian so that he could offer his defense along with his legal defense against the request made against him by the head of Second Supreme Criminal Prosecutor’s Office inside this case.

Due to the nature of the crime, in accordance with current regulations, Chief Justice Juan Carlos Chekli Soria ordered that this hearing be adjourned.

supreme prosecutor Zoraida Avalos filed a 60-day preliminary investigation against the congressman Freddie Diaz for the alleged crime against sexual freedom of rape of a person who is unconscious or unable to resist as a result of this case.

The matter will be reviewed by the Ethics Commission.

Meanwhile, the Congressional Ethics Committee unanimously approved last Tuesday the unanimous conviction of the parliamentarian Freddie Diaz Monago accused of raping a parliamentary worker in his legislature

16 congressmen voted to open an investigation into Diaz Monago, who was exposed last week by an alleged victim.

The decision of the Congress was welcomed by the Minister for Women, Diana Miloslavichwho had previously asked the Ethics Commission to take strong action in the event of a sexual assault complaint against Díaz Monago.
