Having gone to testify at the headquarters of the Public Ministry, the President of the Republic, Peter’s castle, made brief statements to the press in front of the Government Palace. In his speech, he announced that he would take the oath tomorrow new Cabinet, after the resignation of the prime minister Hannibal Torres responsible.
“I call on political actors, the political class, civil society, organizations that today I’m going to make a decision about visiting the office. I sure that, tomorrow we will take the oath in this office”, he pointed out.
In this sense, he called “political parties” work by consensus to form this cabinet “for the good of Peru”.
“I hope that in the call that we are making, as the actors of the political class approach, those who believe in the country, in democracy are welcome. From here, I open this space for other political parties to come closer and once and for all we have made a cabinet work in Peru,” he said.
Recall that Prime Minister Anibal Torres, in a letter addressed to the head of state, offered his position “for personal reasons.”
We will continue to respond to the prosecutor’s office
On the other hand, after today’s fiscal audit, which lasted just over an hour, the President announced his intention to continue retaliatory actions. “as many times as necessary” to the State Department for the cases in which it was investigated.
“I must say that within the framework of the presidential prerogative, the prosecutor’s office could come to the office, to the Government Palace, I have nothing to go to testify not only to the prosecutor’s office, but to any part of the countryanywhere I’m ready to testify (…) But I’m not going to obey media cases”, he pointed out.
“Mass media affairs” the President referred to the statements in the prosecutor’s office effective employees on the case under investigation.
“They want to make people believe that with a witness, with another witness, with pseudo employeeto convince the Peruvian people that the President really stole and is part of a criminal network (…) What such and such, what a geek, what a moron will testify that he has already left. I’m not going to give in to these things, because I came here as the chosen people,” he said.
He also stressed that he cannot “be with assumptions every day that I will respond to these cases,” but will answer the prosecutor’s office when he is called.
“No matter how many times they call me, I must go, firstly, to say that I am not part of any criminal network. That’s what I said to the nation’s attorney today. And I said that I was going to demonstrate anywhere (…) my innocence. I didn’t rob anyone, I didn’t kill anyone. People put me here, and I will always be responsible for people,” he said.
