Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Hannibal Torressent an official letter on Monday, August 1, to the President of the Congress, Lady Camonesin which he invites her to participate in a meeting with the President Peter’s castle at the Government Palace. Camones declined the invitation.
An excerpt from the official letter reads that the invitation is related to a message Camones delivered on the day of her swearing in as the new head of parliament, and is quoted as saying: “We will seek to create a space for consultation with the executive power establish a minimum short-term agenda aimed at mitigating the effects of the food crisis, promoting employment, revitalizing the economy, prioritizing the mining sector, agro-exports and tourism.”
Torres says in his office that the meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday, August 3 at 4:00 pm at the Government Palace “to create the consultation space that you propose.”
The President of the Congress replied to the letter the next day, Tuesday, August 2, saying that she had declined the invitation because of her agenda in the formation of parliamentary committees.
“I will not be able to attend because the Congress of the Republic is in the process of forming regular committees and the meetings of the Board of Spokesmen and the Board of Directors will take place on that day,” it says.
“I also take this opportunity to reaffirm my commitment and readiness to work for the benefit of all Peruvians in a coordinated manner, building the necessary bridges for the development of the country. A new date for the meeting has yet to be agreed upon,” he said. adds. .
Anibal Torres opens his position
