In a legislative decree published today in Official newspaper of El Peruano, Congress of the Republic gave powers to the Standing Commission to legislate until next Thursday 21 July.

This is in view of the fact that last Friday the outgoing chairman of parliament, Maria del Carmen Alvaclosed the second ordinary legislative assembly of the annual period 2021-2022.

faculties said Commission were established by Legislative Decree 024-2021-2022-CR, published in the Bulletin of Legal Regulations of the Official Gazette, and have the headings Maria del Carmen Alva and Lady CamonesFirst Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

Thus, the Permanent Commission will be able to pass laws on opinions and bills or legislative resolutions standing on the order of the day and on the agenda of the plenum, as well as included by agreement Council of Speakersin accordance with his authority.

In addition, he will be able to issue laws on bills executive branch sent as urgencyin accordance with the provisions of Article 105 of the Political Constitution of Peru.

As you know, the last legislature was expanded to allow Congress to debate such projects as returning to bicameralism and amending the University Act, among other things. This legislature was expanded twice through two decrees of the presidency of the Congress: the first before July 8 and the second before July 15.
