On Thursday, Washington Post Watergate reporter Bob Woodward told CNN that the “dramatic” House of Rebellion Selection Committee hearings on Jan. 6, 2021 were so significant that “at least 20% of Republicans” are now wants to understand “Donald Trump.” Throw it away.
Regardless of whether Republicans are watching the hearings, “many of them know the Earth is shaking,” Woodward Watergate partner Carl Bernstein added in an interview with Anderson Cooper.
“Why does the earth shake?” “Because both the Committee and the Justice Department know that‘ before January 6, January 6 and after ’there was‘ massive interception and conspiracy by the President … to prevent the transfer of power, ’” he said. Bernstein. “What we do know, in fact, is that the Department of Justice has evidence of this massive conspiracy and cover -up,” he added.
John Dean, Richard Nixon’s lawyer at the White House, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media, said the chaos was “better than Watergate”. “They probably went to Trump because he’s so effective. Appreciate good media.”
“We forgot how long the Watergate hearings were,” Dean said. “They were seven months old. I hadn’t testified for hours; I testified for five days, eight hours a day. They grind.
Woodward agreed that the House selection committee hearings were “very dramatic”.
“I think if you could step back, what’s going on here in the Republican Party right now … About 50% of Republicans are jumping off Donald Trump,” Woodward said. “Now I think, at least 20% want to move it out of the abyss.”
30% is just a win, Woodward said.
“If there’s a lesson in writing three books about Trump and spending hours interviewing him, there’s a vocabulary: win. You have to win. And they want to win,” he added.
Voters “can calculate: Did Donald Trump win or not?” And it crashed. Important or not, let’s see. “
Woodward said the hearings reveal “meaty and dramatic” information.
