Urresti’s verdict
As is known, Third Provisional Criminal Chamber sentenced to twelve years in prison by former Interior Minister Daniel Urresti., as a co-author of the murder of journalist Hugo Bustios, which took place in 1988. The prosecutor’s office was pleased with the verdict, but the defense said it would appeal.
The reading of the verdict lasted eight hours, where all the evidence found was analyzed. The court indicated that the guilty verdict had been handed down against Daniel Urresti, but with
mitigation of punishment for delaying the process.
Daniel Urresti was arrested at the end of the verdict by the Dirincri staff. After that, he will be placed in a prison designated by INPE in the next few hours.
