Maritza Sanchezformer assistant Dina Boluarte in her campaign for Vice President of the Republic in the 2021 general election, she is due to testify as a witness this Monday, April 10, as part of a preliminary investigation that the president was initiated by the prosecutor’s office in connection with the alleged crimes of a criminal organization, money laundering and prohibited funding of political organizations.
Prosecutor Richard Rojas Gomez has ordered a personal interrogation of Sanchez Peralta starting at 9:30 am at his office located in the second block of Giron Santa Rosa in downtown Lima.
Maritza Sanchez will testify before a judge about her academic, professional, work, economic characteristics, the activities she carries out, membership and political participation, monetary contributions, deposits or money transfers, possible connection or relationship with persons under investigation; and information that may be provided on the facts to be investigated, “under pain of duress” in case of unreasonable non-compliance.
What do Shimabukuro and Sanchez?
Maritza Sanchez told reporters that Henry Shimabukuro covered Dina Boluarte’s campaign expenses that had not been declared to the National Bureau of Electoral Processes (ONPE), a fact that said businessman later confirmed, being investigated by the Cabinet in the shadow of Pedro Castillo’s government.
To the question “What exactly did Henry Shimabukuro cover?”, Professor Maritza Sanchez responded to the program fourth force : “When Henry says ‘everything’, he doesn’t lie. At some point, we calculated… about 800,000 soles.”
This prompted prosecutor Richard Rojas Gomez to decide to expand the preliminary investigation into Dina Boluarte, Pedro Castillo and Henry Shimabukuro to include these facts related to the Peru Libre election campaign case.
Businessman and former Councilor of the Government Palace Henry Shimabukuro told RPP Noticias that he had handed over to the Ministry of Public Affairs a series of audio recordings, photos and WhatsApp conversations that show the coordination he had with President Dina Boluarte during the second round of the 2021 generals election.
According to the researcher, conversations with the then vice-presidential candidate of the republic include gratitude for purchases, donations and support given to the campaign. “Yes, there are crosses on WhatsApp where she thanks me for buying tickets or per diems. That’s proof enough,” he said.
