The Reconstruction Authority with the changes has spent more than half a million soles on clothes, sofas, ergonomic chairs, olives, activities and even English courses for government employees, Sunday’s Panorama newspaper reported this Sunday.
The report found that in August last year, vests, blouses, caps and jackets worth 343,770 soles were purchased, and a few months later orders were issued for the purchase of corrugated cardboard boxes for 33,000 soles.
Authorization for reconstruction with changes Also, 103 thousand soles were allocated for the purchase of furniture, ergonomic chairs and stationery for the office. Executive Directorate.
Robert Lopez Lopez, former chief executive of ARCC, was the person who approved these acquisitions and ensured that clothing and furniture purchases were fully justified. In addition, he stressed that the acquisition of olives is necessary to supply officials with food.
“In an organization where millions of salts are performed, there must be all the logistics to work, and we made it strict, only what is necessary,” Lopez Lopez said.
Restructuring announced
President Dina Boluarte announced a reorganization of the Reconstruction Authority with changes to provide a “real solution” to the rains and floods due to the threat of Cyclone Yacu. In this sense, he also announced that the offices of this institution could not remain in Lima.
“Reconstruction with changes should include the transfer of its offices to the north of the country. It makes no sense for an enterprise to operate from an office in the center of Lima. You have to work in the field and solve problems on the ground,” he said at a press conference.
Dina Boluarte also announced that she was preparing a bill to create National Infrastructure Administrationwhich he indicated would have decentralized offices throughout the country.
“This national body will have 3 strategic goals: it will be responsible for carrying out symbolic works throughout the country, prevention and control of basins and floods, and improvement of the Rimak river basin, among other things,” he said.
Rosemary Cornejo, President of the Office of Reconstruction with Change (ARCC), in dialogue with RPP Noticias noted that since she took office, she has begun the process of restructuring the organization at the request of President Dina Boluarte and Prime Minister Alberto Otarola.
The restructuring, he said, is in response to little progress being made in projects to manage rivers and streams to prevent the devastating effects of natural disasters.
