Former Deputy Minister of Health, Henry Rebaza, indicated this Thursday that he did not drink alcohol in the restaurant after official activities in the Ayacucho area. This happened after they completed their assignment to the Benefits and Insurance Department.
In an interview program News extension, Henry Rebaza He defended himself after a video showing a group of people kicking him and his associates out of a restaurant in Ayacucho after allegedly catching them drinking alcohol during work hours.
“I did not drink alcohol, the bottle was served by officials of the regional government (Ayacucho), these were officials of the regional government, who, on the way to the airport and with security, were distracted for lunch, it was lunch time, it is there in the document. What time was it? It was not during working hours, it was at a time when everyone in the country has lunch,” he said.
Henry Rebaza He confirmed that decisions such as its removal cannot be made “based on images or Twitter”, which is why he recommended going to court to investigate the case.
“This violent crowd has been coming and following me since Sunday at 4:00 pm when I arrived at the Ayacucho airport. That day I arrived and stayed at the Ayacucho hotel, I worked at the regional hospital until 10:00 pm. At dawn, At 4 am, I got a call from the State Security to alert me, and they changed my hotel because they knew that the hotel was crowded. I was sheltered until 8 am, where I was told that I could go to complete this task the official opening of the school year in Ayacucho, at the Mariano Cáceres educational institution (…) I was there until 9:30 in the morning, and when we passed through the stands, I was kicked out of the school, saying that the protesters were going to school,” he said .
“Toast to the Minister”
As for the video where a bottle of wine is visible under his table in the Ayacuciano restaurant, Henry Rebaza explained that it was because Ayacucho regional government officials had asked for a toast in the middle of dinner.
“I only made a toast as a courtesy gesture, because finally, how is life, right? They asked me to toast the minister from Ayacucho (…), because finally they said: our minister, she is from Ayacucho, and because they are doing a good job, and I was not going to refuse them,” he said.
Henry Rebaza He specified that he filed a complaint with the Alfonso Ugarte police station in Cercado de Lima and underwent a forensic medical examination. In addition, the former official admitted that eight hours later he was given a dose of ethyl alcohol, which turned out to be negative, at the Aramburu police station.
“I only worked, I only did assignments, and it’s a pity that in our country they only look at these heartfelt facts at the hour when everyone is having lunch, and they don’t see the other side, the other side of violence. where they attacked me (…) censored me, I presented all my evidence, I believe that this is unfair to my career and my obligations,” he said.
