Congressman Freddie Diaz will spend the next nine months in preventive detention against him in Lurigancho prison. This is reported by INPE in a short message, which is broadcast on social networks.

Yesterday, Diaz surrendered to justice and, having passed the mandatory control, temporarily spent the night in the prison of the judiciary. Now that the penitentiary where he will be held is known, he will be transferred there in the next few hours.

Permanent Criminal Division of the Supreme Court Last week, he ordered the preventive detention of former Congressman Freddie Diaz Monago for nine months. The reason for this decision is related to the investigation that he was facing on charges of raping a young woman in an unconscious state.

The Supreme Investigating Court must execute the decision of the Permanent Criminal Chamber, whose term of office will be calculated after the arrest of the former MP.

For its part, the plenum Congress of the Republic On January 23, he approved the final report, which recommends the removal from public service for 10 years of parliamentarian Freddy Diaz, accused of drinking alcohol in the premises of the Legislative Palace.

Delivery does not imply liability

Emerson Campos, attorney for former Congressman Freddie Diaz, assured that the fact that his client placed himself at the disposal of the authorities after a 9-month preventive detention order against him for the alleged rape of an employee in his office does not mean that you take responsibility for it is a crime.

In ads on “No Queue” RPP NewsThe ex-legislator’s defense spokesman said the decision to turn himself in after a pre-trial detention order is intended to create a precedent that his client is not going to run away or interfere with the investigation of this case.

“The accusation is serious, the fact is serious, indicative, but today with this legalization it does not mean accepting responsibility, because pre-trial detention is not early punishment. What we are doing is submitting to the judiciary so that they don’t think or believe that Freddie Diaz is going to run away and that he is going to interfere with the investigation, that’s clear, ”he said.
