congressman Ezra Medinaboard member of Somos Perú, has announced that he is preparing a vacancy proposal, which should be ready this Friday to submit it in case the president Dina Boluarte does not retire. In his opinion, with his proposal to hold elections ahead of schedule, the president “avoids” responsibility.

“If she is unable to rule the country, then we must release her. There is a livelihood, but we also have to hope that she analyzes well and that she steps aside, that she resigns, because we already understood that after two months she was not able to run the country well, and after another ten months Peru will plunge into chaos,” he said.

“The decision is in the executive branch, not in Legislature. We have worked (…) The Congress has worked, there are people who feel that they have not worked and want to leave tomorrow, but there is a double discourse. (President Dina Boluarte) always shirks responsibility and the citizen knows it,” he added.

In an interview with RPP Noticias, the parliamentarian recalled that he voted against the proposal Constitutional Commission push the elections to 2023. According to him, the decision executive branch“However, he asked if the president was really Dina Boluarte changed more than once on the day of the end of his term of office.

“The solution is in it. For two months, she did not restore order in Peru, did not seek dialogue, did not coordinate (…) The decision should be made by the executive branch. Why should we keep him to continue ruling for another ten months when he couldn’t do so for two months? The solution is that if he cannot, he must resign,” he said.

On another occasion, the congressman announced that he would vote against bills prepared by the executive branch that called for early elections. The deputy believes that the deadlines provided by the government do not correspond to the deadlines set by the National Electoral Jury for calling new elections.

“What she is doing is hiding behind Congress and not taking responsibility. She must understand that she is in power and that she must seek dialogue, and not with Congress, she must seek dialogue with businessmen and with people who take to the streets in protest, but the streets are asking them to resign, and they must take take responsibility,” he said.
