Power of attorney allowed to consider the appeal submitted by the head strength of the peopleKeiko Fujimori, to allow her to leave the country on January 22 and 27 to participate in academic activities to be held in the city of Madrid, in Spain.
Judge Victor Zuniga Urdai took this measure in determining that the appeal filed by the former presidential candidate through her defense complied with the formalities required by law to be considered by a higher authority.
With this in mind, the justice of the peace decided to “satisfy” the appeal of the former presidential candidate and to transfer the said appeal to Second National Court of Criminal Appealevaluate it in a scheduled stakeholder hearing for a final decision on the matter.
Request denied
January 14 last year, the judge Victor Zuniga declared unfounded the request of the Fuerza Popular leader to be absent from her place of residence, Metropolitan Lima, from 22 to 27 January to attend an event hosted by the World Law Foundation in Madrid.
The judge took the measure in response to a prosecutor’s charge of more than 30 years in prison, which is pressuring the former presidential candidate over contributions to his 2011 and 2016 presidential campaigns.
The judge also took into account in his ruling that no Peruvian authorities would monitor detailed records of the activities carried out by politicians in that country.
Recall that on December 5, the judge Victor Zuniga warned or called attention to the former presidential candidate for not properly informing the details of the trip to participate in academic activities in England in the specified month of 2022.
