The composition was created in Ukraine in four months to the sound of sirens, without electricity and by candlelight.
The National Committee presented an outfit in which the winner of the Miss Ukraine Universe contest, Victoria Apanasenko, will appear in the show of National costumes at the Miss Universe contest. The event will take place on January 11 in New Orleans.
The costume is called Warrior of Light. It has a symbolic meaning – a message about the struggle of Ukrainians. It is based on the image of Archangel Michael defending Ukraine with a sword in his hands.
The image also uses five basic materials and elements. One-piece jumpsuit, symbolizing armor, as if a second skin envelops the participant. A white dress consisting of an embroidered shirt with puffed sleeves, a skirt, which in total took more than 10 meters of fabric, and a belt.
An addition to the costume is a headdress with corn ears that is traditional for Ukraine. The open wings, burned in battle, are framed by blue-gold armor in the colors of the Ukrainian flag and decorated with various glass ornaments.
The Miss Universe 2022 final will take place on January 14, 2023 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
