Royal biographer and friend of Prince Philip, Giles Brandreth, has written a new book in which he reveals that Queen Elizabeth II battled bone marrow cancer before her death. It was reported by The Daily Mail.
The book is called Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait. It will be released in December.
Brandert describes the last days of the monarch’s life.
“The queen knows her time is running out and she accepts it with dignity,” he said.
The author also quotes Dr. Ian Greenshields, who was with the Queen at Balmoral Castle on the eve of her death.
“His faith was everything to him. He told me he had no regrets,” said Dr. Greenshields.
“I heard that the Queen has a form of myeloma – cancer of the bone marrow – which explains her fatigue, weight loss and the ‘mobility problems’ we’ve been told so much about over the past year. The most common symptoms of myeloma is bone pain, especially in the pelvis and lower back, and multiple myeloma is a disease that mostly affects older people,” the writer said.
Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle. About this Thursday night, September 8th.
