The head of the International Olympic Committee believes that sport requires the participation of all athletes, even if their country is in a state of confrontation or war.
Rhythmic gymnast, bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympic Games, Anna Rizatdinova, reacted to the statements of IOC President Thomas Bach. He wrote this on his Instagram page.
In particular, the athlete admitted that he did not understand why he called to abandon the practice of withdrawing Russians from competitions because of a full-fledged war in Ukraine.
“The only thing I can offer to the head of the IOC: Thomas, go to Ukraine, to Kyiv, Nikolaev, Kharkov. Or, maybe, let’s hold the next IOC congress in Mariupol? It’s a pity that we can’t invite athletes. on this holiday, holiday, where, as you said, “Olympics is able to unite the whole world”, our dead Sports Angels, our children who are no longer alive, Ekaterina Dyachenko…” he wrote.
At the same time, Anna Rizatdinova added that before allowing the athletes of the aggressor country to compete, it should be known what the coaches and sports leaders of the Russian Federation think about it.
“After all, we don’t know this for almost a year of war, because for some reason the head of the IOC is responsible for them, and they themselves are passive and wait until the lobbying does its job and they get out of the water is dry, pushing everyone against their crazy president. But with the letter Z next to him are athletes in Olympic uniforms!”, the gymnast summed up.
It was previously reported that in Spain, an unknown person broke a car window and stole belongings and documents from 2016 Olympic Games bronze medalist Anna Rizatdinova.
