The billionaire has promised to lay off up to seventy-five percent of his staff. He started doing it.
American billionaire Elon Musk, who recently bought shares in the social network Twitter, fired its developer – software engineer Eric Fronhoefer after he publicly refuted a top tweet that the app was slow on Android. The Daily Mail writes about it.
In particular, Musk talked about the low speed of the application on devices with the Android operating system, to which Fronhoefer disagreed in response.
“By the way, I want to apologize for Twitter being very slow in many countries. The application generates more than 1000 poorly packaged RPCs just to display the home timeline!” Musk wrote.
“I’ve been working on Twitter for Android for almost six years and I can say that this is not true,” said the engineer.
“Twitter on Android is very slow. What did you do to fix it?” asked Musk.
In response, Fronhoefer provided a detailed list of what he had done at work, as well as his assessment of what might be causing the slowdown.
As a result, Musk bluntly wrote: “He was fired.”
The developer responded by posting a photo of his work laptop’s locked screen and writing, “I think it’s official now.”
Note that according to Fronhoefer’s LinkedIn, he has worked at the company for eight years.
Musk recently began cutting dozens of jobs at Twitter. This is after he promised to lay off up to seventy-five percent of his staff.
Recall that earlier Musk raised the price of a Twitter Blue subscription to eight dollars and added user verification to it.
