The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska met with refugees from our country who took refuge in the Portuguese city of Cascais. The first 250 people left their homes in mid-March because of the Russian war. The wife of the Ukrainian president announced this on Instagram.
According to him, people in the first shock of war and forced displacement immediately received a warm and considerate welcome at the emergency center.
“The conditions here are moderate, but there is everything you need. Ukrainian temporary migrants can stay in the center until permanent housing is found for them. had the opportunity to meet the center, and Mr. Carreiras , to thank him and his city for the incredible hospitality.
Zelenskaya said that Cascais is the second city in Portugal with a population of ten million in terms of the number of registered temporarily displaced people from Ukraine.

“There are already 3310 of them here. For our compatriots there is free legal support, language courses, access to education, health care, help in finding a job.
