The boy wanted to take a selfie at the museum’s closed Fashion Week.
A video showing a 13-year-old boy being slapped by a security guard near the Louvre has gone viral online. It happened during Paris Fashion Week at the Louis Vuitton show.
The guard approached the little boy, grabbed him by the right hand, and then hit him in the face with his left hand.
“Today, the Louvre is completely closed and privatized by Bernard Arnault (billionaire, CEO of LVMH) for Louis Vuitton. LVMH agents attacked a 13-year-old child. LVMH removed the video. But kept we have it,” the message said.
Lawyers said the incident occurred on the Louvre esplanade when a child wanted to take a selfie.
“Louis Vuitton condemns all forms of violence and sincerely apologizes for this unforgivable act. As soon as the Chamber became aware of this incident, the service provider was immediately contacted to ensure that the security agent is no longer working for Louis Vuitton and that in the future the necessary steps will be taken to prevent the recurrence of such cases in the future,” commented the fashion house.
The network is also angry that it has raised the issue of increasing privatization of public spaces in France.
“The Louvre has always been and remains a symbol of France as a powerful, governmental and cultural institution. It is not a place that can be rented for commercial purposes,” users wrote.
