The ex-wife of American billionaire, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and one of the richest women in the world, Mackenzie Scott, separated from her second husband, chemistry teacher Dan Juetta. The New York Times reported it.
The couple had been married for less than two years.
The split in the couple’s relationship is said to come as Scott continues to rapidly give away his wealth, showering nonprofits and other institutions with cash with no strings attached.
Scott, now one of the world’s most famous philanthropists, received a quarter of his stake in Amazon after his 2019 divorce from Bezos, with whom he lived for 25 years. At that time it was 36 billion dollars. He is known to have given away at least $12.7 billion.
Forbes currently estimates Scott’s net worth at $34.8 billion due to the rise in Amazon stock since then.
Jewett’s name has been removed from public documents related to Scott’s charity. It no longer appears in his Medium blog posts, where he details his donations. In addition, a photo of them together was removed from the website.
