The author of the cult hit I Believe I Can Fly has been indicted on 13 charges. Conviction on one count alone carries ten years in prison.
The famous American performer R. Kelly (Robert Sylvester Kelly) was accused of creating child pornography and sexual abuse of minors. This was reported by The Guardian.
It was noted that on Wednesday, September 14, a trial took place in Chicago, where the author of the cult hit I Believe I Can Fly was found guilty of three counts of creating and possessing child pornography and three counts of child abuse.
In doing so, a jury acquitted him of a fourth count of obstruction in a 2008 trial.
Kelly still has two pending sex crime trials – one in Minnesota and one in Chicago state court.
It was previously reported that R. Kelly was facing life in prison, as new details emerged in his case.
