The repost tab probably contains all the posts shared by users on their accounts.
Social network Instagram is testing a repost feature that will allow users to share other people’s posts in their feeds. It was first spotted in a video posted on Twitter by Instagram head Adam Mosseri.
The social network then confirmed that they plan to test the feature with a small number of users.
In the video, Mosseri uses his own account to show off Instagram’s archive feature, but when he opens his profile, a repost tab is visible alongside regular posts, videos, and tagged photo tabs above his grid.
“We’re exploring the possibility of posting to the feed – similar to how you can post to Stories – so people can share what they like and to recognize the original creators for their work,” said a Meta spokesperson told TechCrunch.
Instagram is believed to have been working on the repost feature for months, as app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi spotted the feature in development in May. However, it is not known when the social network will roll out the repost feature for all users.
Recall that earlier Meta opened access to Reels and Music functions for residents of Ukraine.
