After the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Taras Topolya, along with other members of the Antitila group, enlisted in the ranks of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian musician Taras Topolya, who recently returned from the front line, admitted what he was most afraid of while working as a paramedic. He said this in an interview with Grigory Reshetnik.
“The worst thing in war is aviation. A helicopter, a sector worked out by the NURS. But, if from what happened directly nearby, but, fortunately, we were not hit, this is when a tank works. A tank has a projectile speed faster than the speed of sound and the explosion occurs faster than sound in flight. At a point near you, something explodes. If you are in range, that’s it, you don’t will be noticed – jump and disappear, ” he said.
At the same time, he added that, together with his colleagues, he had to prepare for a chemical attack. The prospect is terrifying.
“We bought chemical protection suits for the whole battalion, gas masks, filters, atropine, an antidote. In general, there was a terrible realization that you must do these things in the 21st century in middle of Europe. What can I say, times are very difficult,” Taras Poplar summed up.
It was previously reported that members of the Ukrainian pop-rock band Antitila took care of the children of their comrades who died in the Russian war until they came of age.
