The soloist of the Ukrainian group Okean Elzy Svyatoslav Vakarchuk returned to Ukraine after a European tour and arrived in Kharkiv. The video from the city, which on the eve of Independence Day celebrated its 386th anniversary, the artist posted on Instagram.
In the footage, the star appears in Svoboda Square against the backdrop of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration building, which was hit by a Russian missile on March 1.
“I remember how six months ago I stood in this square and heard the explosions of shells. The rockets hit the houses in the center of the city. And this was only the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia against Ukraine. Today, Kharkiv is completely different. I visited the same central park , ran along Sumska Street. It was very clean. The streets were being cleaned. The shops were partially open. In the morning cafe, people were sitting man enjoying the morning summer sun. As Sergey Zhadan said, Ukrainian flags are waving in the city. But the world is still far away,” said the singer.
