Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) has completed a treehouse hotel room in Swedish Lapland. The company has created a spherical cube covered in 350 bird houses, reports Hypebeast.
A project called Biosphere is suspended among the trees of the Harads forest at the Treehotel resort, famous for its impressive list of cabins designed by some of Scandinavia’s leading architects.
“Building bird nests is an important step. In addition, climate change causes an insect boom at the beginning of the year, and by the time the chicks hatch, the boom is over. Feeding is a important support mechanism for birds that stay these close to their homes, are very important. Treehotel’s initiative to take such steps can inspire their guests to do the same”, – told the company.
Visitors enter the room through a suspension bridge. Inside, they are transported to a space that feels dark and secluded – with a dark interior and organic materials inspired by the thickness of the surrounding forest.
“By changing the individual sizes of bird nests and extending them outwards, and depending on the type and frequency of birds in the area, light can get inside while maintaining the appearance. By -set up a new hotel room in an eco-friendly environment, Visitors are given the opportunity to experience the birds up close, being at the center of nature,” added BIG.
It will be remembered that the first five-star Dolce Hanoi Golden Lake hotel in the world with gold-plated interior and exterior details was opened in the capital of Vietnam.
