Trichologist Viviane Coutinho explained the causes and solutions for changes in hair structure

Among the most varied types of problems related to hair is hair hydrophobia. The trichologist and faculty member of the Brazilian Academy of Trichology, Viviane Coutinhoexplained how the process works:
“This is a change that can affect all hair types and textures. When this occurs, the yarn cannot absorb water, due to the excess of products used in the finishing or revitalization of the yarn, carried out on the ‘day after’”he said.
She said that the use of products derived from petroleum, silicone and others that are insoluble in water causes this problem, which is noticed when the hair looks soaked, without the possibility of absorbing the creams.
“To avoid hair hydrophobia, it is extremely important to clean the wires frequently and seek immediate help from a specialist to effectively perform a professional scalp cleaning. Hair therapy is the most suitable for this treatment”he said.
Another suggestion, according to the yarn specialist, is to opt for natural products.
“Creams with actives indicated for the need of the thread, are great, as well as cleaning with clay or detox shampoos, which perform a deep cleaning. The exfoliation also eliminates all accumulated impurities, which prevent the hair from absorbing the nutrients necessary to keep healthy. However, if there is any other problem, such as high porosity of the hair, hair therapy should be extended for a few more months”finished.
