The Ministry of Digital Transformation negotiated with the management of Meta to expand the list of services available to Ukrainian users.
The Meta company, which owns the social networks Instagram and Facebook, has opened access to the Reels and Music functions for residents of Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov on Telegram on Wednesday, August 3.
“For more than a year, the team of the Ministry of Digital Development has been talking with the leadership of Meta to launch these functions. Finally, they will be available to all Ukrainians. Now there will be more content from Ukraine. And this means that more people in the world will learn about the courage of our people. Thanks to Meta for an important step and support for Ukraine,” the official wrote.
It is noted that the popular social network Instagram launched Reels in 2020, and Music in 2018, but this feature is not available to Ukrainian users.
Now, Ukrainians can add music to their stops with a few clicks from a huge music library, and create videos up to 15 minutes long using Reels’ creative tools.
It was previously reported that Ukraine is asking Meta to reduce requirements for content from Ukraine regarding the scope of killings and atrocities occurring in the country.
Facebook for the first time in history suffered a decline in revenue
