The Duke of Sussex came to the capital of Ukraine at the government’s invitation. He plans to present the initiatives of his funds for the help of injured defenders and visit veterans.
British Prince Harry arrives at Kyiv for an unexpected visit to the Ukrainian government invitation, reports The Guardian.
The Sussex Duke Duke emphasized that his main goal was to help restore military personnel seriously injured during the Russian war. Together with the Invictus Games Foundation team, he will display new rehabilitation support projects that will cover different regions of the country.
“We can’t control the war, but we can do our best to help the recovery process. We can continue to be the people involved in this war, and what they are going through. We must keep it in the field of people’s fields. I hope this journey will help to convey it to people because it is easy to be indifferent to what is happening,” Harry said.
According to the prince, the idea of approaching Kyiv appeared after meeting Olga Rudneva, the founder and CEO of the Superhumans Military Injury Center. In April, he visited the LVIV Center, where they treated fighters with amputations, and Rudneva later met in New York. Then he advised him to visit Kyiv.
“The war is almost invisible to Lviv. It is far from the west. This is the first time we will see the real destruction made by the war,” Harry emphasized.
On the journey, the prince plans to visit the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II, meet Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko and chat with 200 veterans.
Earlier it was reported that Prince Harry, who arrived on September 8, finally met with King Charles III.
