The man said he was happy to live with a citizen of our country. He intends to propose to her.

The Briton Tony Garnett, who left his wife for a Ukrainian refugee, whom he sheltered in his house, invited two more migrants from our country, including a woman. The Daily Star writes about it.

As you know, Garnett split from his wife Lorna 10 days after 22-year-old Sofia Karkadym from Ukraine moved into their home. The couple raised two children.

On June 23, Garnett and Sofia saw an ad on social networks looking for accommodation for 19-year-old Sofia Rastorgueva and her companion Ilya Tronevich.

The young couple did not join the British in the same place, because they accidentally let their cats out on the street.

“We have nowhere to go. We are refugees from Ukraine. My hometown is Kremenchug, the same place where the Russians blew up a shopping mall last month and killed many people. It’s very dangerous there. We know the Russians are close and our parents asked us to leave for our safety. Ilya and I went to Warsaw, and then came here, to Leeds-Bradford airport,” said Rastorguyeva.

“Since Sophia came, I smiled a lot and was happy again. I will make her my wife. I am in love with her, and to those who write such nonsense about me, I say:” What are you doing for in Ukraine?” Garnett said.

Recall that the Irish government suspended the visa-free regime for refugees from most European countries in order to save places for Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homeland due to the military invasion of Russia.

Nearly 1,000 civilians were displaced in the Kharkiv region
