In the play, which bears the same name, this is no different. Lived in a masterful way by the talented Lola FanucchiAdrien is that kind of character that captivates the audience in the first speech. The actress, who has had a lot of roles in theater, cinema and television, talked to the maxim to get a career of her career and also to tell how it is being to live such a memorable character of pop culture.
Check out the interview:
- Adrian Pennino is a woman full of layers and evolution throughout history. How was your process of building this character and what were the main inspirations to bring it to the stage?
“The rehearsal is a very intense period that I am particularly in love. This is where we plunged with everything in the work! Our creative team has been greatly leaned against what we call” table work “, where first of all we study in depth the text of the piece. I sought to add new inspirations to what the text proposes to create something interesting and not just a copy. TALIA SHIRE Eternalized the character in the cinema and part of my work is to bring this essence to the fans of the work. But I also wanted to explore other references, because our contexts are completely different. ”
“We are on a super stage close to the public. This asks for a new version of the character to be created even for the story to maintain its original impact that touched so many hearts around the world. I studied since skaters from the time the movie was released, as Dorothy Hamill, Even more personal memories of close people like my mother. ”
- You mentioned that playing Adrian came as a plot twist after a challenging year. How has this role has been significant to you personally and professionally?
“I think it’s important to not deny the difficult times, especially nowadays, where everyone seems to have the perfect life on the internet. There are times when life is not so easy, right? 2024 It was a personally challenging year for me and I think it also made me understand and bring to my test a version of Adrian that made sense.”
“It is a character that mixes delicacy with resilience. It was a gigantic happiness to have been chosen to live it. I am very proud to honor her story on stage every day, because it takes a very powerful message that, regardless of the difficulties we live in the past, we can choose to transform our future and build a life that fills us.”
- Its artistic trajectory went through different formats, from musical to audiovisual theater. What are the main differences you feel when acting in these two means and which one challenges you the most?
“I believe that the core that sustains the work of the actor is the same, regardless of the environment where he is. Personally, he is very connected to the truth. Finding the truth of that character, the circumstance, the genuine exchange with the scene partners. This is imperative for me. And this remains in any condition and means. to tell a story there ”.
This is what happens when in the musical, for example, an actor begins to sing to go beyond something that the text at that moment does not seem to handle. This is what happens on a very closed plan for the audiovisual where, without saying anything, you need to communicate in the same way. I find it very pleasant to be able to explore all possibilities and not limit myself to just one language. Definitely all are challenging and make me grow as an actress. ”
- In addition to Talia Shire’s references in the cinema, you brought personal elements to compose Adrian, including memories of your mother. How was this emotional process and how did these women enrich their construction?
“I think all inspirations will make the creation more complete and therefore more humane. My mother had a certain fragility that I try to borrow at a few moments for Adrian and that they obviously connect in a more personal place. But I think this mixture of references is important. I think this is what something original is created.”
- Looking at your trajectory, which includes from great musicals to work at the cinema and TV, what was the most striking moment of your career so far? And what do you still dream of doing?
“I have difficulty choosing a remarkable moment, because I was immensely happy so many times because of this profession. But I am very proud of my first opportunity in audiovisual to have emerged from a job I was doing at the theater. My director in the soap opera“ Orphans of the Earth ”, Gustavo FernandezIt was watching the play I was on display at the time (“Natasha, Pierre and the great comet of 1812”) and invited me to a test. I fell in love with the audiovisual in that work with him and it was precisely magical that this door was opened by the theater, where I started. ”
And about dreams I think I’m faithful! Lol! Mine never changes. It’s the same as mini Lola who played to make scene in the living room. I would like, even when the body can handle, I can be lucky enough to remain active in my profession. Sounds a little dramatic (and it can be an actress bad… lol!), But it’s a very complex career and I feel extremely honored to be able to live on art in Brazil. I want to continue and do not limit myself to a means. Now I’m on display at the theater, I would love to make movies again soon. I miss the audiovisual! ”
