The legendary Irish Rock Band U2 has expressed support in Ukraine on the anniversary of the full -scale raid in Russia.
The bond soloist and the guitarist Edge recorded a video in which they read a passage from Taras Shevchenko’s poem. And dead, and alive, and not yet born.
The video appeared on their official Instagram page. Bono cited the lines of classic Ukrainians combined with the piano, creating a sharp atmosphere.
“Edge and I sent this reading to the president of Zelensky (which we met before he became president) in the days after Russia attacked Ukraine. Poetry belonged to Taras Shevchenko, the great poet in the 19th -century , who decides “Ukrainian” for many.
Remember that the U2 group has repeatedly expressed unity in Ukraine. In 2022, musicians even performed on Kiev Metro, which supported the Ukrainians in the struggle for independence.
