The feature ‘Maré Alta’ stars Marco and directed by his husband, filmmaker Marco Calvani, and was nominated for the GLAAD Media Awards 2025
The film “Maré Alta” (“High Tide”), starring the Brazilian actor Marco Pigossi and directed by Italian filmmaker Marco Calvaniwas nominated for the prestigious GLAAD Media Awards 2025, the largest award in the world focused on the LGBTQIAPN+ community. The list of nominees was released last Wednesday, 22nd, and the awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles, on March 27th.
The film is competing in the category of Best Film – Limited Release in Cinemas, competing for the award with productions such as “20,000 Species of Bees”, “Backspot”, “Before I Change My Mind”, among others.
“Maré Alta”, which has already won several awards at international festivals, was shown at the MixBrasil Culture of Diversity Festival in 2024, where it received the award for Best Audience Film. The film was also selected for the Rio 2024 Festival.
