The trial of rapper A$AP Rocky, accused of assault with a weapon, has begun in Los Angeles.
On January 22, the trial against rapper A$AP Rocky began in Los Angeles. It was reported by ABC News and AP.
He faces a charge of assault with a semi-automatic weapon, which could result in up to 24 years in prison if convicted.
The trial began with the formation of a jury. The Supreme Court judge noted the need for a speedy process and limited the time for questioning potential jurors.
The rapper is accused of shooting a former friend with a gun outside a Hollywood hotel. Prosecutors proposed a deal in which A$AP Rocky would plead guilty to one count, receive seven years probation, three years probation and six months in prison. But the rapper’s defense rejected this agreement.
A$AP Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, says the weapon the artist used was a starter pistol, and the defense will call witnesses to confirm that.
It was previously reported that A$AP Rocky shared rare family photos.
