The singer is seeking $500 million in damages from Warner Bros. and Ample for a documentary that called him a serial rapist.
American singer and actor Chris Brown filed a lawsuit against the movie studio Warner Bros. and production company Ample, which is seeking $500 million in damages for defamation and moral damages, Variety reports.
The artist was angered by the documentary film Chris Brown: A History of Violence, which was released in October 2024.
In the tape, the 35-year-old performer is called a “serial rapist and sexual abuser.” Brown accused the producers of spreading misinformation, noting that the film was based on a complaint by a woman named Jane Doe, who said she was the victim of violence on a yacht at Sean Diddy Combs’ Miami estate in December 2020.
According to Brown, the complaint was previously dismissed for lack of credibility, and the allegations highlighted in the film caused serious damage to his reputation and mental health.
Warner Bros. and Ample has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
It was previously reported that Prince Harry had agreed to a settlement agreement with publisher News Group Newspapers, including an official apology and financial compensation.
