The writer responded to accusations of sexual assault. On his blog, he says that all his relationships are voluntary and consensual.
English writer Neil Gaiman made a public statement on his blog responding to new allegations of sexual assault.
The author categorically denies any wrongdoing, noting that he has never had sex without consent.
“I’m far from a perfect person, but I’ve never had non-consensual sex with anyone. Ever… Some of the horror stories being told today never really happened, and others are very distorted from what actually happened , that has nothing to do with reality,” Gaiman stressed.
The writer also admitted that in the past he was “emotionally unavailable”, “self-centered” and “not always considerate of the feelings of others.”
“Obviously, I was careless of people’s hearts and feelings, and for this I deeply regret. It was selfish of me. I was delighted with my own story and ignored others,” he added.
Gaiman explained that his messages to women always reflected mutual consent and desire, noting: “As I received them – about two people enjoying a completely consensual sexual relationship and want to see each other again.”
The writer emphasized that he is trying to regain the trust of his family, fans and continue his creative work.
It was previously reported that illusionist David Copperfield was accused of harassing 16 women.
