The producer of Eurovision 2025 revealed the reasons why popular Ukrainian artists avoid participating in the competition: costs and reputation.
Ukrainian singer Tina Karol, who is this year’s producer of the National Selection for Eurovision 2025commented on why famous artists ignore participating in the competition.
In her interview with Anna Tulyeva, she noted that performers who already have a name on the stage avoid participating because of the high financial costs and strict rules of the competition.
“Not a single actor with a more or less well-known name submitted his application. This is probably due to the fact that an actor who is on stage and familiar with the cost of each stage appearance and backstage work understands that. Eurovision – it is expensive. Expensive for an artist,” explained the producer.
An additional obstacle for many artists is the requirements set Suspilnym. According to them, participation in the competition is prohibited for those who visited Russia after 2014.
“There are many artists who cannot submit their entries because of the rules that have come up Suspilny This is border crossing. And this, you know, is their personal business, we don’t comment on it. I’m not commenting on this,” Karol noted.
