An Argentine court has expanded its investigation into the death of Liam Payne by summoning the manager and registry officer of the CasaSur hotel for questioning.
The investigation into the death of One Direction member Liam Payne is gaining momentum, Rolling Stone reports.
The Argentine court decided to question two employees of the CasaSur Palermo hotel, where the tragedy happened. We are talking about the hotel manager and the person responsible for registration, who called the rescue service.
The decision to question them came after the judge found there were “reasonable grounds to suspect their involvement in the incident.” Earlier footage published by TMZ showed hotel workers forcibly dragging Liam into his room and closing the door.
The court also called for the questioning of all suspects in the case, and a lawyer for Payne’s friend accused prosecutors of multiple violations. Prosecutors did not review key surveillance footage and held closed-door meetings with one of the hotel’s managers, he said.
“Given everything presented, it is clear that there was no serious, deep and, at least for now, serious investigation,” the lawyer said.
Let’s recall that TMZ previously reported on Payne’s disturbing behavior. The singer says he doesn’t want to be locked up in rooms because of traumatic experiences from his One Direction days. The group’s producers often restricted the members’ freedom, and more than once Liam used balconies to escape.
According to the publication, on the day of the tragedy, Payne told staff she did not want to stay in the room. Fearing for his safety, hotel workers called the police. At the scene of the tragedy, personal belongings of the singer were found, which, according to witnesses, he did not have with him in the lobby. This may indicate an attempt to escape.
The investigation continues as Liam Payne fans around the world await the truth about his final moments.
It was previously reported that Liam Payne was using drugs before his tragic fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
