The trial of Prince Harry and other celebrities’ privacy claims against the publisher of the Daily Mail will begin in early 2026.
The lawsuit by Prince Harry, singer Elton John, actresses Elizabeth Gurley and Sadie Frost and three other British figures against the publisher of the Daily Mail will go to trial in early 2026.
The plaintiffs are accusing Associated Newspapers and 70 of its current and former employees of phone hacking and other serious privacy violations that allegedly occurred more than 30 years ago, Reuters reported.
Associated Newspapers, which publishes the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, categorically denies any involvement in any illegal activity. The court previously refused to dismiss the publisher’s claim, paving the way for a trial expected to begin in 2026.
This is not the first time that British tabloids have been at the center of a scandal. In December 2023, Prince Harry partially won his case against the Daily Mirror, which also involved phone hacking and the illegal collection of celebrity data. The court then ordered the publisher to pay prince compensation in the amount of 180 thousand dollars.
It was previously reported that Prince Harry was included in the list of the “hottest” men of the last 60 years according to Harper’s Bazaar.
